Helping teachers and students thrive — so they can transform schools together.
Coaching, professional learning and whole-school consultancy for Australian schools — built on one connected approach: the Wellbeing Ecosystem.
Hi, I'm Tony Cox.
For nearly 25 years I've worked in education — teaching every age from pre-school to tertiary, leading as an Executive and Deputy Principal, and for the past decade working as a specialist wellbeing teacher across schools and sectors.
I founded Wellbeing Education Solutions to bring coaching, professional learning and consulting to educators, schools, government and organisations across Australia and abroad. My focus is preventative and proactive: helping people understand what wellbeing is, why it matters, how to measure it, and the small, repeatable actions that improve it.
I've learned to thrive — through teaching, leading, burning out, rebuilding, and running very long distances. My mission is to help as many others as possible do the same — well, maybe not the running bit.
Grounded in leadership research, positive psychology, EQ and the science of wellbeing.
Every program is tailored to your school and your specific context.
Support at every level — students, teachers, leaders and parents.
Built for long-term change in engagement, morale and culture.
One connected system, not a checklist
Wellbeing is not an addition to the work of education — it is the work. Everything I do with schools rests on one framework I've developed over two decades: the Wellbeing Ecosystem. An engine of values, a transmission of gears, and a wheel of wellbeing domains, turning together to produce the outcomes that matter.
The FIFTHER Framework
Seven values that power everything — the values foundation of Wellbeing Education Solutions. FIFTHER is my word for going further than you thought possible.
The Five Gears
The transmission that turns values into real growth — five gears a person or school shifts between as conditions demand, always travelling forward.
The Wellbeing Wheel
A six-domain self-assessment: rate each spoke one to nine, join the marks, and see at a glance where wellbeing is strong and where it needs attention.
One mark holds the whole ecosystem in a single image — read three ways, all true at once.
A system in motion — values, gears and domains turning together.
Not a passenger — you take the helm and steer toward what matters.
Protection — standing firm in the values so your people are shielded.
What a turning ecosystem produces
Bespoke wellbeing support for your whole community
Every school and organisation is unique, so every program is tailored to your context. Common ways I work with schools:
Whole-school strategy
Consulting with leaders to design and embed school-wide wellbeing initiatives, tailored to your school and context.
Staff & leadership coaching
Building positive culture, lifting morale and addressing the real stressors through one-to-one and team support.
Professional learning
Whole-staff workshops and PD built around the FIFTHER framework and the Wellbeing Ecosystem.
Keynote speaking
Engaging, evidence-based talks for conferences, staff days and community events.
Student incursions
Fun, engaging sessions using storytelling, games, video and song — helping students understand and improve their own wellbeing.
Parent workshops
Supporting parents to support their children's wellbeing, reduce academic stress and set realistic expectations.
The Staff Run/Walk Club
A simple, voluntary, non-competitive way to support staff wellbeing, morale and connection through regular movement. Once a week, staff walk or run together at their own pace — some walk, some jog, some join briefly. It's not a fitness program, not compulsory, and not another initiative to manage. Just permission to move, connect and reset together.
Easy to understand, easy to run, and low burden for schools.
Always optional — come weekly, occasionally, or just try it once.
Walking is valued equally with running. No leaderboards, no comparisons.
A weekly wrap-up and a shared distance tracker build pride without pressure.
Foundation Membership gives your school everything needed to set up and sustain the club across the year — setup guidance, staff communication templates, tracking and mapping tools, and ongoing support. $650 per school, per year.
Request the School Approach Pack →The Wellbeing Ecosystem
My forthcoming book brings the whole-school approach together into one practical guide — the FIFTHER values, the Five Gears and the Wellbeing Wheel, with the tools to build a culture where everyone can thrive. Written for principals, wellbeing leaders and the teachers alongside them.
What school leaders are saying
Early readers of the manuscript — principals, directors and school leaders from across Australian education.
Unlike most authors, who re-brand existing approaches, you have created a whole new paradigm. If ever there was a book for the times — this is it.
An outstanding scope of what really matters in a school — current, authentic, doable and achievable. What a gift this is to anyone in education.
The FIFTHER values, Five Gears and Wellbeing Wheel are innovative and not represented in any other literature. A great read for any leader who wants a school where everyone's wellbeing matters.
I absolutely loved it — clear, logical, practical and grounding. It recognises the genuine tensions of school life while offering optimistic direction for teachers and leaders.
How are you, really?
The Wellbeing Wheel is a simple five-minute self-assessment for teachers and school leaders — six domains, one honest picture of where your energy is, and where it's quietly asking for attention.
